How you can help

First of all, don’t buy fake-up. Every purchase, no matter how small, is just one more dollar in these criminals’ pockets and one more reason for them to keep making this crap. Thing of them like a drug dealer — if people stop buying their stuff, they’ll move on to something else. Granted, I doubt they’ll go get honest jobs, but I’m just trying to help tackle this problem.

Second, I’m always looking for submissions so if you have a story you’d like to share, please send it to me (link to form page). I’m more than happy to keep your name confidential and edit photos to remove identifying information. But please tell me about your story with fake-up and any bad reactions you had to it (photos help). The more stories we tell, the more people will come to realize how dangerous this stuff is.

Speaking of submissions, if you’ve come across a news article or blog post that I don’t have listed, please send it along. I’m not out to be the lone voice on this topic so I’d like to link to and partner with as many other sites as possible.

If you’d like to help financially, please go to my support page (link) and help me continue this fight. I’m just one person, doing this in her spare time, so I need all the help I can get to pay for website hosting, maintenance, and updates.

If you have purchased fake-up and would like to get rid of it, please send it to me so I have products to do comparisons with. I can’t buy it from you (it’s illegal to sell (link), plus I can’t afford it), but I’m happy to cover shipping. I will also make sure that it’s never used by anyone again, because once I’m done photographing and/or testing products, I will destroy them (cheap stress reliever). I’ll even send you video evidence of it of me jumping up and down on it or smashing it with a hammer. But before I go all medieval on it, I will put it to good use.

Finally, if you are with a cosmetics company, please contact me so we can connect and share information. I’m trying to include links to every company’s website that has a page regarding counterfeits so if your company is not on my list, please let me know. Also, I’m looking to set up affiliate links to help pay for the hosting and maintenance of this website. If you can set me up with that or a coupon code, that would be incredibly helpful (plus, it will hopefully bring you some sales). The other thing I am in need of is products to test and do comparison photos. I simply can’t afford to purchase everything and I don’t want to buy them only to return them and then end up getting banned from my favorite stores for too many returns. Plus, there are new ones coming out every day and I want to have the most recent info available for people. If you work for a cosmetics company and can hook me up, I would be very appreciative. I’m happy to either return the product when I’m finished, or I can do a review of it on my beauty blog and give you some more exposure.
